Type 63 ventielen zijn direct en extern medium gestuurd en hebben perslucht van 4-10 bar nodig om te schakelen.
Het ontwerp is eenvoudig en solide, met snelle reactietijden.
Dit type ventiel kan van beide kanten doorstroomd en afgesloten worden. Om sluitstoten met vloeistoffen doeltreffend te voorkomen, moet de optie "middendruk onder ventielzitting" gekozen worden.
